An accredited project manager with a technical professional background in construction project management and building consultancy, I’ve been active in the development and humanitarian sector for more than five years.
I’m currently collaborating with humanitarian NGO Shelter Centre and supporting the global survey on the situation of human rights defenders conducted by the UN Special Rapporteur (UN OHCHR) & the Human Rights Defender Hub. I am also pursuing a PhD in Human Rights with the Human Rights Consortium at the University of London, and it is my privilege to serve on the boards of both both Renewable World East Africa and Latin American Foundation for the Future.
I bring together three key skillsets:
• Technical know-how:
Substantial project management credentials (PRINCE2, PMP, MAPM), technical expertise (MSc, MRICS, AMICE) and experience (10yrs+) in construction, infrastructure and the built environment
Experience of operational and strategic management, administration and governance in public-sector and international non-profit organisations
In-depth research and analysis skills and a solid knowledge base in international development, human rights, forced displacement and humanitarian action.
Having started my career in private-sector consultancy, from 2012 to 2015 I completed an MPA in International Development while gradually transitioning into the sector through part-time voluntary work. I have 2.5yrs+ international experience, primarily in East Africa, and also South Asia and Latin America.
I am always keen to connect with practitioners, academics and anybody with shared interests, e.g.:
– humanitarian action, human rights, forced migration, refugees
– humanitarian engineering, appropriate technology in international development
– built environment, shelter, settlements, infrastructure (WASH, energy, etc)
– DRR, post-disaster/post-conflict reconstruction.
